Todd Kaminsky has spent his career fighting for Long Island families and working to end government corruption.

As a federal prosecutor representing Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens, and as Acting Deputy Chief of the Public Integrity Section, Todd took down corrupt elected officials who used taxpayer dollars to fund lavish lifestyles, as well as drug kingpins and other major felons. For his work, Todd was given the True American Hero Award from the Federal Drug Agents Foundation. Todd also served as a prosecutor in the Queens District Attorney’s office, prosecuting domestic violence cases, robberies, shootings and other violent crimes.

As a legislator, Todd has led on issues important to Long Islanders, including property tax relief and cleaning up government corruption. Todd also secured huge funding increases for local schools, helped Hurricane Sandy victims, won major infrastructure improvements, and fought for LIRR riders.

In the last year alone, Todd: delivered a $1 million state grant to revitalize downtown Baldwin, $3.7 million for a flood prevention barrier in Hempstead and more than $16 million for local schools; passed legislation to stop false and anonymous political ads online, ensure Long Islanders have clean water and protect 9/11 survivors; and been called “a leader for railroad reform” by /Newsday/.

Todd was named one of City & State’s 40 Under 40 Rising Stars and one of the New York Observer’s Top 40 Albany Power Players. Newsday wrote in an editorial about that Todd’s “background makes him ideal to lead the charge toward a corruption-free Albany.”

Todd graduated from Long Beach High School, received his law degree, magna cum laude, from New York University, and his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan. He currently lives in Long Beach with his wife, Ellen, and their son, Rafe.
